KEEPING THE WORLD WILD

Updated: Dec 29, 2020

What drives you? When you tell the buzzing noises of the day to shut the hell up and truly listen to yourself, what do you have to say? My own encounter with this process was a regression, in a way. To go forward, I needed to step back and realize I once had a firm grasp on it as a Discovery Channel and Jack London obsessed child. I want the wild, and I'm finally ready to heed its call.

When I first began this foray into photography, I anticipated the lion's share of my focus would land on general world travel. Given my propensity to travel in this manner over the past few years, it seemed to be a natural fit. However, that all changed after trips to Yellowstone and South Africa in 2018. They were the first get-aways planned entirely around nature as opposed to cultural cities and cuisine. Enter the elusive epiphany.

I love to travel the world... but I NEED to explore the wild. Furthermore, I need to capture its glory to the best of my abilities and share it. In doing so, I hope that a message resonates and inspires people to explore themselves and, more importantly, to make an effort towards preserving these untamed places and their equally untamed inhabitants.

To KEEP THE WORLD WILD™.

Over the years, I've had a few different ideas for potential business ventures. Looking back, there has been one overarching aspect that connects them all; an ethos of giving back. Sharing any success with a cause I believe in (and is thematically connected with the product) was always a prevalent thought from the start.

In this case, the connecting points were crystal clear. When I first launched my website, the phrase "Keep The World Wild" randomly came to me and I placed it on my landing page. I recently decided to trademark it and will now utilize this brand for environmentally charitable products; the first of which is a design that will benefit the National Park Foundation.

Based on a photograph I captured of the Yellowstone Valley (below), I had a graphic vector made that incorporates the phrase and is optimized for apparel and other accessories.

Yellowstone Valley - Spring of 2018

The first item is a unisex t-shirt and is available in the shop section of this site. More variety will be introduced in the near future, both in terms of alternative apparel & accessories as well as new graphic designs to benefit other relevant causes. Anytime you see an item with Keep The World Wild™ branding, 10% of the proceeds will to toward a charity respective to the image, indefinitely!

Your support means the world. Not only for me, not only for our parks, but for you as well. We need these ecosystems to thrive. You don't need to buy a shirt, but you do need to ensure that these places are looked after. Visit the parks, respect them, and encourage others to do the same. Their health and success is tied to our own; hand-in-hand toward balance or oblivion. Let's choose the former.

Cheers,

Carmine
